Holding is the artwork – each field fills with color 10% a day, ten days to full. Nine squares, one shared piece. Fully on-chain, on Tezos.
RGB_DIV (HODL) consists of nine individual tokens – three each in red, green and blue – that together form one shared, living work. Whoever buys a square receives it as their own token and becomes a co-owner of the entire RGB_DIV (HODL).
Art needs time. The slow becoming after each purchase is the work itself – and selling resets it to white. Holding is the artwork.
With the purchase, the white glow turns into the field's RGB color and the fill grows (+10 %/day, over about ten days) – simultaneously on the single token and on its field in RGB_DIV (HODL). On sale, both return to the white state. White stands for a still-available field – and for the brief moment right after each purchase or sale. So every field keeps swinging between white and color.
On the first mint the square glows white – a neutral fresh start, on the single token as in RGB_DIV (HODL).
With the purchase, the white glow turns into the field's RGB color – synchronized on the single token and in the shared work.
After the purchase the fill builds up in steps of 10 % per day – over about ten days, until the current state is reached. The work doesn't arrive at once, but slowly comes to itself.
Art needs time to take effect and unfold. The slow becoming after the purchase is not a loading bar but a performative part of the work – a core idea of the project: increasing, decreasing, growing.
Once a token has been sold, it is reset and returns to the white state for one day. After that it begins anew with the slow color transformation.
Every sold field makes the collective more complete. RGB_DIV (HODL) only exists if many take part – a shared picture.
HTML, CSS and JavaScript live entirely on-chain. The state of the nine fields is the work – nothing sits on a server.

Prototype – purchases are simulated and visible only in this session. The color change runs here in fast-forward for testing; live, the fill builds up at 10 % per day over about ten days. Structure prepared for later wallet / smart-contract integration (Tezos ꜩ or Ethereum/L2 Ξ, chain still open). · Reset demo · generative netart by Florian Kuhlmann.
